Create in me a clean
heart, O God,
and put a new and
right spirit within me.
~ Psalm 51:10
If I were
fire, I would burn,
If I were a
woodcutter, I would strike;
but I am a
heart, and I love.
~ Barbara Brown Taylor
First the Nazis went
after the Jews,
but I was not a Jew,
so I did not object.
Then they went after
the Catholics,
but I was not a
Catholic, so I did not object.
Then they went after
the trade-unionists,
but I was not a
trade-unionist,
so I did not
object.
Then they came after
me,
and there was no one
left to object.

We had another delicious
Dine Around Dinner at Naoma's and Ron's home.
Their doggie, Nugget, loved
the attention!
At our
Wednesday Breakfast,
Lynne brought a quilt made by former students
from Denver West High School.
Two of them are co-owners of 2Kool Productions
formed to provide workshops and mural opportunities to school children of all
ages, and to sell their own products and services. The mission
statement of 2Kool is to" build strong communities through creativity, teamwork,
and leadership."
Carmon suggested they do a quilt for profit to help their
business and possibly even get back into college. He collected all the
painted canvas panels, then did his usual magic in framing them in amazing
colors and finished the quilt. The Golden Quilt Museum already wants to display
this piece at the Denver Center for Performing Arts during the run of the
play "Quilters."
When viewed through 3-D
glasses, the colors pop and you can see the three dimensional
effect!
Kate is
really amazed!!!
Bryce just liked the
glasses!

We listened to three very
interesting speakers!!!
Adam Schrager, author of
The Principled Politician,
autographing his book for
Robin. The book tells the
story of Colorado Governor
Ralph Carr's fight against
the internment of Japanese
Americans during WWII.
(See the quote
below.)
Gov. Carr's stand against
the internment doomed
his political
career.
We must honor the
principles of the Constitution
for every man
or we shall not have
it
to protect any
man.

Sunday in Lent
The days are surely coming, says the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took
them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant that they
broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that
I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put
my law within them, and I will write it on their
hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer
shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they
shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I
will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no
more.
