Servant-hood

He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” Then he took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.”

Tony, Susan, and Ross
Last Sunday we had another neighborhood party.
How nice!  Two in one season.
The last time we had one was at least ten years ago.
Tony and Susan are Pogo's parents.
(Pogo is the cat I painted for last year's Christmas card.)

Pixie and Bryce had just met at our Wednesday Breakfast.

Ginny and Peggy
Peggy held our afternoon Book Club group at her home.

Friday evening was another Dine Around party.  We enjoyed seeing Ann and Mike's
amazing new southwestern home that is very green!!!
At the moment, it is one of the three highest rated green homes in the country.

In the background are their solar panels.
They have five beautiful chapungu sculptures from Zimbabwe.

Ann showed us her chicken coup out back.
She really does gather eggs every evening.
(I don't know about the peacocks.)

We had our hors d'oeuvres on the patio.
Ann, Lyle and Diane, Tisha

Steve, Mike and Ann

These are some of the marionettes Ann and Mike
used to use to entertain their children ... and others.

What a fun and fascinating evening!!!

This weekend is the annual Open Door Studio event in Evergreen.
Rebecca and I stopped to see one of the artists and Rebecca
bought this pastel painting, Autumn's Vale.
The artist, Jane Christie, is on the left.
